What Age Is Lip Gloss Appropriate For?

A quick, judgment-free take on tween lip gloss — and how we age-grade ours.

There's no single "right" age for lip gloss — families decide what works for them. What we can do is make a product that's appropriate when you do say yes.

We design our gloss and gloss kits for tweens, and we grade them 8+ — mostly because kits include small parts (tubes, gems, charms) that aren't safe for children under 3.

For younger kids who want in on the fun, a plain tinted-shine gloss (no small parts, no DIY) is the gentler route, with an adult applying it. For older tweens, the make-your-own kit adds a creative, STEM-y twist that's more craft than cosmetics.
